That was what I first thought when a reader approached me about starting one. I did some research and asked around my various writing loops. It’s a group of fans and readers who spread the word about your books and distribute promotional items and/or books to local libraries and bookstores. How cool is that?

I’ve decided to jump on this bandwagon. Now, bear with me, because this is kind of new to me and I’m pretty sure there will be a huge learning curve, but I can already tell this will be a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved. Saturday Shoe Blog Winners — and Tiebreaker vote

Hey all! I’ve tallied all the votes and there’s a tie between “Shoe P0rn Saturday” and “Can’t Walk a Mile in These Shoes.

I’ve set up a tiebreaker poll for people to pick between the two. This poll will run until the end of the day on May 15th.

Blog Update and a Giveaway

I’ve recently discovered I have a huge addiction to shoes. And that’s pretty bad when you’re a starving artist. To help overcome my addiction, I’ve decided to start a regular weekly post with my recent finds that I love, but might not be exactly able to afford or wear (I don’t fare well in anything over 3.5 inches). I’d also like to expand the feature to include reader’s suggestions via email. If you’ve got a picture of a killer shoe, send it to me at contact@sidneyayers.com.

So I’m asking you, gentle reader, for input.

I’ve started a poll below:

What name sticks with you? Do You have another suggestion, or do you think this is a stupid idea? I mean come on, how many more blogs with scantly clad men do we need? Not that I don’t mind the occasional eye-candy every so often, but I just don’t want to be any more cliché than I tend to be at times. LOL.

Also, I was thinking I might try to resurrect Fudge Filled Fridays. It seems I’ve developed a chocolate addiction along with the shoe addiction.

Later on, when life gets less hectic, I’m planning on starting a weekly writing feature. Stay tuned for more news on that.

Attention All Authors! I need your swag!

I’m putting together a workshop about promo adequately titled EYE-CATCHING PROMO–Cheap, Unique and Utterly Chic. If you’re like me, you’re on a really restrictive budget and sometimes have to rely on your own creativity to get your name out there. Because of said creativity, I am now known as the “Shrinky Dink Chick”. I made bookmarks with Shrinky Dink charm adorned tassels. It was fun and a heck of a lot cheaper than buying actual charms. Trust me, I priced charms. Some came up to almost $2.00 per charm. Uh, sorry… don’t think so. Then, while Googling promo ideas, I discovered a forum about Shrinky Dinks. A guy had used printable shrink paper to make key-chains. I then realized that printing and baking my own Shrinky Dink key-chains was tons cheaper than buying them from a promo item website.

Anyway, I digress. What I’d like is other authors to showcase their own cheap/unique/interesting promo items (including romance trading cards). I’m looking for 20-40 pieces of swag (or more, if you’re willing to part with them).

It was a unanimous decision. Card #2 won. When I say unanimous, that’s what I mean. 100% of the voters chose the closeup of Serah. Thanks to everyone who voted and voiced their opinions.
